Sunday’s Child loves Thursdays

Any Given Saturday colt wires field in Louisiana

The way Any Given Saturday’s Sunday’s Child won his first-ever trip to the post it probably wouldn’t have mattered what day of the week he raced as he was very impressive in his wire-to-wire win.

Quickest out of the gate, the two-year-old colt was able to relax throughout the five and ond-half furlong maiden race, and represents the sixth first-crop winner for his G1-winning sire.

Sunday’s Child was bred by Stony Oak Thoroughbreds in Louisiana and is out of the Stakes-winning mare First Lady, extending from the sire-producing family of What a Pleasure and Time For A Change.

Any Given Saturday, winner of the G1 Haskell over Horse-of-the-Year Curlin, is the best son of Distorted Humor and commanded a yearling sales price of $1.1 million. His first crop of two-year-old also includes debutantes Ittasal and Brother Pat. His in-demand second crop includes yearlings that brought prices of $105,000 $115,000, $125,000 and $180,000.
