Street Cry sires quinella at Ascot

Delta Gee and Admiring fill the top spots in the Listed Natasha Stakes; Street Cry colts Whobegotyou and Predatory Pricer place in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes

Darley stallion Street Cry sired the quinella at Ascot in Australia on Saturday when his daughters Delta Gee and Admiring filled the top spots in the Listed Natasha Stakes.

Stepping up into Stakes company for the first time, Delta Gee ran out a ready one-and-a-quarter length winner from her paternal half-sister, with a further two-and-a-quarter lengths back to the third. This was her second win from six starts and represented improvement stepping up to the 2200m trip. Bred by Rangeview Stud, she is a half-sister to Stakes winner Wave Rock who won the same race in 2006.

Runner-up Admiring was also tackling the trip for the first time. Bred by Messrs Sarich and Stilling, she is out the Stakes-winning mare Ballet Girl and a is half-sister to the Listed-winning filly Empire Dancer.

At Rosehill, Street Cry colts Whobegotyou and Predatory Pricer finished a close second and third in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes behind Heart Of Dreams. Whobegotyou, who triumphed in the Caulfield Guineas earlier in the season, was bred by Lockyer Thoroughbreds and is out of the Stakes-placed Carnegie mare Temple Of Peace. Predatory Pricer, who is a half-brother to globetrotting superstar Takeover Target, was bred by Meringo Stud Farm. His dam, Shady Stream has a yearling by Dubawi who is entered in the forthcoming Easter Sale in Sydney.
