Street Boss sires 9th winner

Now leads all North American first-crop sires in that category

Madison Street found the fast lane on August 24th at Ellis Park, making every call a winning one, to take the day’s opening race over five and one-half furlongs on the turf. Breaking quickly from the gate, the two-year-old Street Boss filly had some company up front early on but took a two-length advantage into the stretch and was very game to the wire.

Bred by Bloodstock Holdings LLC in Kentucky, Madison Street is out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Madi’s Jill, a half-sister to G2 winner Forty One Carats and to the dams of Stakes winners Little Miss Zip and What’s Your Edge.

Street Boss’ first crop also includes the undefeated Stakes winner Bosco, French Stakes-placed winner Sheistheboss, and Saratoga maiden special weight winner Top Tier Lass. In addition to being the nation’s leading freshman sire by number of winners, Street Boss also leads his pier group in 2012 by two-year-old sales average. His two-year-old graduates this year include the $430,000 top-priced filly and the $825,000 second highest-priced colt.
