Quiet American's Star Guitar earns his 21st career Stakes victory

He's done it again. Quiet American's millionaire son Star Guitar stamped a remarkable 21st career Stakes victory April 1 in the Southern Oaks Plantation Costa Rising Stakes at Fair Grounds. Sent off as the heavy favorite in the one and one-sixteenth mile race, Star Guitar settled off the pace on the outside of the field. In the upper stretch he began to drive for the lead and put forward a late surge to nail the victory once again.

Star Guitar was bred by Brittlyn Stable, Inc., M. Benoit, and E. Benoit. The seven-year-old is out of Stakes winner Minit Towinit, by Malagra. He is a half-brother to Stakes winning Grand Minit and Favorite Minit.

The sire of 50 career Stakes winners, Quiet American is a consistently successful sire of both soundness and class. Already in 2012 his daughter Absinthe Minded has already posted two black-type victories. Quiet American's best include G1 Kentucky Derby Real Quiet, multiple G1 sprinter Switch, and G1-winning Cara Rafaela - the dam of Darley's own sire Bernardini.

Quiet American stands the current breeding season for $15,000 at Darley USA.
