Son of Quiet American victorious in Louisiana Showcase Classic Stakes

Entering off a three Stakes winning streak, millionaire Star Guitar made it his fourth in a row with a beautiful victory in the Louisiana Showcase Classic Stakes July 2 at Evangeline Downs. A winner of this race in 2010, it was the sixteenth Stakes win for the remarkable Quiet American horse.

Breaking to the front, Star Guitar set the pace to start the one and one-sixteenth mile Stakes race. The veteran held the lead throughout the and went wire-to-wire to earn yet another victory under the guidance of Corey Lanerie.

Bred by Brittlyn Stable, Star Guitar is out of the Stakes winning Malagra mare Minit Towinit. She is also the dam of Stakes winners Grand Minit and Favorite Minit.

Quiet American is the sire of 22 Graded Stakes winners and the earners of over $50 million. Among his best in 2011 is multiple G1 winning filly Switch. He is also the sire of G1 Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet and G1 winner Cara Rafaela, dam of Darley's own Bernardini. Quiet American stands for a fee of $15,000 Stands and Nurses.
