Star Guitar shines in Louisiana Legends Classic Stakes

22nd Stakes victory for millionaire son of Quiet American

As expected, Quiet American's outstanding son Star Guitar earned yet another Stakes victory, this time in the Louisiana Legends Classic Stakes July1 at Evangeline Downs in track record time. It was the 22nd black-type win for the horse, whose earnings now total $1,749,862.

Settled on the outside, Star Guitar stalked the early leaders, gaining ground throughout. Entering the final turn, he made his final move when asked for the victory.

Star Guitar was bred by Brittlyn Stable, Inc., M. Benoit, and E. Benoit. The seven-year-old is out of Stakes winner Minit Towinit, by Malagra. He is a half-brother to Stakes winning Grand Minit and Favorite Minit.

Quiet American is a fantastic sire of both soundness and class, and has sired 50 career Stakes winners to date. In addition to Star Guitar, his 2012 Stakes winners include Absinthe Minded, who is also G1-placed. Quiet American's top runners include G1 Kentucky Derby Real Quiet, multiple G1 sprinter Switch, and G1-winning Cara Rafaela - the dam of Darley's Bernardini.
