Spun To Run rockets to victory in M.P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile

Hard Spun colt earns his second Stakes win in dominating style

Spun To Run took command entering the far turn and never looked back on his way to recording a dominating, six and three-quarter length victory in the $100,000 M.P. Ballezzi Appreciation Mile at Parx Racing Oct. 12.

It was the second Stakes win of the season for the three-year-old son of Hard Spun, who captured the G3 Smarty Jones Stakes in early September.

Content to stalk pacesetter Carlos L. for the first half mile, Spun To Run accelerated past that rival and took command entering the far turn. Spun To Run continued to increase his lead, eventually crossing the wire close to seven lengths in front of runner-up Someday Jones.

Bred in Kentucky by Sabana Farm, Spun To Run is out of Yawkey Way, a Stakes-winning daughter of Grand Slam. In addition to the Smarty Jones winner, Yawkey Way has produced Tap It All, winner of the California Oaks.

Hard Spun is the sire of over 70 Stakes winners. In addition to Spun To Run, the stallion is represented by additional 2019 Graded Stakes winners Out For A Spin, winner of the G1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes; Gatting (G1 Makybe Diva Stakes); Green Light Go (G2 Saratoga Special); A Thread Of Blue ($1,000,000 Saratoga Derby Invitational, G3 Palm Beach Stakes) and Hard Legacy (G3 Regret Stakes).
