Son of Medaglia d’Oro dominates again in Hong Kong

Golden Sixty wins his ninth Group race in the G2 Jockey Club Mile

Medaglia d’Oro's Champion Golden Sixty started the new Hong Kong season in spectacular style when taking the G2 Jockey Club Mile. Winner of G1 Champions Mile when last seen over 200 days ago, he was held up in the rear in the one-mile contest before quickening down the outside to record a one-length triumph.

Golden Sixty has only ever been beaten once in 19 career starts with nine Group victories, four of which are at the highest level. His win streak now runs to an amazing 15 races.

Golden Sixty was bred in Australia and is out of Gaudeamus, an Irish Group 2 winner by Distorted Humor. Golden Sixty is one of the mare’s six winners from her eight foals to race.

Medaglia d’Oro has sired 17 Stakes winners in 2021 including G2 Shannon Stakes hero Yonkers, and fellow Graded winners Navratilova, Vigilantes Way, Risk Taking, Moonlight d’Oro, Magny Cours, Souper Escape, Beautiful Gift and recent G3-winning juvenile Rockefeller.

Medaglia d'Oro is standing the 2022 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $100,000, stands and nurses.
