Son of Hard Spun comes with late charge

Late Charge wins Listed The Sofitel at Flemington

Hard Spun four-year-old Late Charge became the 33rd Stakes winner for his sire with a narrow victory in the Listed The Sofitel over 7f at Flemington, September 13.

Trapped wide from an awkward barrier, Late Charge wore down the leaders in the final few strides to win by a nose.

A homebred for Ken King, Late Charge is third foal out of unraced Octagonal mare Fantagonal whose dam English Fantasy is a half-sister to former Champion galloper and successful sire Dr Grace.

A winner of the G1 King’s Bishop, Hard Spun is the sire of G1 winners Wicked Strong, Questing, Zo Impressive, Hard Not To Like, and Hardest Core.
