Somebody let the Cat out!

Discreet Cat’s fifth winner rolls by 10 lengths

It didn’t take long for Discreet Cat's Lucky Dan to poke his head in front in his second career start at Mountaineer on July 25 and not much longer to draw away from the field in an impressive 10-length maiden special weight win.

It was only the second career start for the juvenile colt who was bred by Destiny Oaks in Ocala, Florida. Lucky Dan’s winning dam, the Formal Gold mare Be Happy My Love, is a half-sister to Elusive Quality's champion son, Smarty Jones, and she also has a 2011 Discreet Cat weanling by her side.

Rated the equal of Bernardini at three, Discreet Cat's matched Easy Goer’s mile record that same year at Aqueduct in the G1 Cigar Mile. His first group of runners also reflects four other winners, a collective foals produced from the dams of 87 Stakes horses/producers.
