A sizzling August for Animal Kingdom

Three two-year-old debut winners lead the way!

Frank Stronach bred 11 mares to Animal Kingdom in 2015, and if the period of August 4th to August 11th, 2018, is any indication, he's definitely getting the right results with his runners sired by Derby and Dubai World Cup winner.

Racing in the name of Stronach Stables, three debuting two-year-olds made their first starts winning ones giving their sire quite a run in the early days of August:

August 4th - DEBUT WINNER
Jungle Warrior, a colt out of G2 Barabara Fritchie Stakes heroine Harissa, circled the field to win her first start in impressive fashion over Woodbine's turf course

August 6th DEBUT WINNER
Bohemian Queen, a filly out of multiple G1 winner Life At Ten, took to Woodbine's main track very well, also coming from off the pace for her victory

August 11th DEBUT WINNER
Intanga Rose, out of three-time G1 winner Intangaroo, also made her main track debut a success rounding out the trio of Stronach-owned/bred debut winners

The aforementioned group of 11 mares also featured individuals out of G1 winners Spain and Collect the Cash and half-sisters to G1 winners Curlin, Awesome Again, Stately Victory and Cittronade.

Also on August 11th, the highest-priced yearling from Animal Kingdom's first crop ($350,000), the now-named Duchoissis, fittingly won his first-ever start at Arlington Park in Chicago, the racetrack founded by legendary horseman Richard Duchossis. The three-year-old colt was last in the field early on and then exploded on the turn for home to win by a widening three and three-quarter lengths.
