Savings Account cashes in at Delta Downs in Treasure Chest Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro notches her second Stakes victory with determined effort

Savings Account battled the length of the stretch with longtime leader Vieja Luna before edging clear nearing the wire to post a one-and-a-quarter-length victory in the Treasure Chest Stakes at Delta Downs.

Sent off as the heavy favorite, the five-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro did not disappoint her supporters as she notched the second Stakes win of her career.

Bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm LLC, Savings Account is out of Wild Hoots, a Stakes-winning daughter of Unbridled’s Song. Wild Hoots is a full sister to Buddha, winner of the G1 Wood Memorial.

Medaglia d’Oro is the sire of four G1 winners in 2016, including champion and multiple G1 winner Songbird and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner, New Money Honey.

Medaglia d’Oro will stand the 2017 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $150,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
