Romansh rocks in Curlin Stakes

After breaking his maiden by more than five lengths last time out at Belmont, three-year-old Bernardini colt Romansh made it two in a row July 26 in the Curlin Stakes at Saratoga.

In the one-and-one-eighth-mile race Romansh settled off the pace in fourth. Going five wide on the far turn, Romansh rallied in the stretch and took his Stakes debut for trainer Tom Albertrani.

A $750,000 Saratoga yearling, Romansh was bred in Kentucky by Darley & Lynn B Schiff. The colt is out of multiple Stakes winner and G3-placed Cologny, who is a half-sister to Stakes winners Selective and Keep It S. S., as well as the dam of Graded Stakes winner Twice The Appeal.

A world class young sire, Bernardini has sired six G1 winners and 10 G1 horses thus far in his career. He has sired two G1 Travers Stakes winners in Alpha and Stay Thirsty, a race he won himself at three. Also among his 14 Graded Stakes winners is multiple G1 winner and millionaire To Honor And Serve.
