Peaceful State claims Listed Adelaide Guineas

Son of Animal Kingdom shows his class in second Stakes win

A perfectly-timed ride led to a performance of tremendous promise as Peaceful State swept to a narrow but convincing victory in the Listed Adelaide Guineas at Morphettville on Saturday, May 12.

Peaceful State had already staked his claim to fame as the first Australian Stakes winner by his sire Animal Kingdom, and his latest victory suggested it won’t be his last.

Held up at the rear of the field for most of the 1,600m, Peaceful State moved smoothly into the race from the 600m.

As other runners launched their bids, jockey John Allen held up Peaceful State for a decisive last run and the colt responded stylishly to grab the lead and hold his opposition at bay.

Peaceful State is a son of the Helissio mare Weekend Beauty, which makes him a half-brother to the seven-time Australian G1 winner Weekend Hussler.

Bred by Arrowfield Stud, Peaceful State is raced by leading Japanese owner Kenji Yoshida.

Animal Kingdom, the winner of the G1 Kentucky Derby and G1 Dubai World Cup, stands at Jonabell Farm in Kentucky at a fee of US$30,000, stands and nurses.
