Nice win in the Mr. Nasty for Discreet Cat colt

Sage Valley wire-to-wire winner by 6 ¾ lengths

Coming off of an eight and three quarter-length victory last time out in the mud at Belmont (registering a 100 Beyer Speed Rating), hopes were certainly high for Sage Valley, a three-year-old son of Discreet Cat. The improving sophomore didn’t disappoint as he made every call a winning one while garnering his first stakes win in his first try in an added-money event by six and three-quarter lengths.

Sage Valley, whose record now shows four wins and three seconds in seven starts, is out of Ashwood C C, a winner of seven Stakes races in her career and whose first three foals to race are all winners.

Sage Valley is one of 11 Stakes performer during 2012 sired by Discreet Cat, a list that also includes G2 winner Mamma Kimbo and G3 winner Out Of Bounds. He is listed among the nation’s leading juvenile sire and second-crop sires by number of 2012 winners.

Discreet Cat was the co-highest weighted three-year-old of 2006 along with stallion barn mate Bernardini.
