Medaglia d'Oro is enjoying an outstanding season so far and his progeny’s Stakes-winning ways continued on July 29 when he celebrated a new Stakes winner at Saratoga, USA.

Four-year-old filly Devil By Design became his 11th Stakes winner this year, and 19th overall when she ran out the handy winner of the seven-furlong Lucy Scribner Stakes.

Settled in third position, the Bill Mott-trained filly was angled outside entering the stretch and battled impressively to take the lead and ran on well to win by two and a half lengths.

Bred by John Gunther and Fred Sahadi, she is out of the Stakes-placed Devil Is Due mare Beauty’s Due and has now won on five occasions.
