New Stakes winner for Holy Bull

Juvenile colt Toro Bravo maintains his unbeaten record in style, Star Guitar (Quiet American) notches his tenth Stakes victory

Toro Bravo, a two-year-old son of Holy Bull (pictured), made it three wins from three starts and recorded his first success at Stakes level on July 3, landing the D S Shine Young Memorial Futurity at Evangeline Downs.

Breaking smartly from the gate, Toro Bravo was always up with the pace and battled well in the stretch to win the five-furlong contest by a length and a half.

Bred by Oak Tree Stables LLC, Toro Bravo becomes the second Black type winner out of the Gold Case mare Little Evon.

Also at Evangeline Downs on Saturday, Quiet American's consistent performer Star Guitar took his number of Stakes wins to an even ten when taking the $100,000 Louisiana Showcase Classic.
