More glory for Animal Kingdom

Lord Cecil becomes the third winner for his sire in Australia

Animal Kingdom’s first Southern Hemisphere crop have hit the ground running with his two-year-old son Lord Cecil becoming the third winner for his sire when taking the Star Kingdom 2YO Handicap at Muswellbrook on 21 April. Jumping well, Lord Cecil moved straight to the front, setting the pace with equal race leader Jungilized before charging home to find the line in a narrow victory.

Bred in Australia by Arrowfield Group Pty Ltd, Lord Cecil is out of winning Zabeel mare Lady Zabelia, herself a daughter of Stakes winner Miss Power Bird. Lady Zabelia has produced three winners from as many runners, including two-time G2 winner Time For War.

Lord Cecil joins ‘TDN rising Star” filly Earth Angel and Platinum as winners for their sire Animal Kingdom, who’s first-crop of Northern Hemisphere runners will begin racing later this year.

Animal Kingdom stands at Jonabell Farm for $30,000, stands and nurses.
