Fourth in the 2019 edition of the Evan Shipman Stakes, Medagalia d'Oro's Sea Foam made all the running in the 2021 renewal to capture his fourth career Stakes win in the one and one-eighth mile event at Saratoga.
Bred in New York by Waterville Lake Stables, Ltd., Sea Foam is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare, Strike it Rich. Winner of the G3 Boiling Springs Stakes, Strike it Rich is also the dam of the Stakes-placed colt Straw Gold (by Hard Spun). Second dam Belle of Perintown, who won the G2 Silverbulletday Stakes and Listed Pocahontas Stakes, also has produced Stakes winner/G2-placed Tomlin as well as Stakes-placed Sumptuous, dam of Great Stuff, winner of the G3 Toboggan Stakes.
In addition to Sea Foam, Medaglia d’Oro’s other 2021 Stakes winners include Golden Sixty (multiple G1 winner and recently named Horse of the Year in Hong Kong for the second consecutive year), Souper Escape (G3 Trillium Stakes), Vigilantes Way (G3 Eatontown Stakes), Risk Taking (G3 Withers), Beautiful Gift (G3 Santa Ysabel), Moonlight d’Oro (G3 Las Virgenes) and Navratilova (Tepin Stakes).
