Medaglia d’Oro: Countdown to Keeneland

The nation’s second leading yearling sire and leading two-year-old sire will have 53 yearlings on offer

Fifty three yearlings sired by Medaglia d'Oro are cataloged for Keeneland's 2018 September Yearilng Sale, and given the strength of his recent Saratoga Sale, one can expect more fireworks at the upcoming sale in Lexington.

A summary of his sales year so far include:

  • $1.35 million sale topper at Fasig-Tipton in Saratoga
  • $1.3 million second highest price at Fasig-Tipton in Saratoga
  • $1 million fourth highest price at Fasig-Tipton in Saratoga
  • $1.2 million sale topper at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic two-year-old sale
  • $1.1 million sale topper at the OBS April two-year-old sale
  • $1.2 million co-topper at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream two-year-old sale
  • $1.6 million sale topper at Keeneland January horses of all ages sale

An incredible set of results that would be enviable for a stallion's career much less all taking place in one year. He is the leading sire in 2018 by two-year-old sales average, the second-leading sire of yearlings, and the leading sire of horses of racing age.

His yearlings cataloged for Keeneland September include:

  • 6 yearlings out of G1 winners
  • 5 yearlings that are half-siblings to G1 winners
  • 20 yearlings out of Graded Stakes winners
  • 14 yearlings that are half-siblings to Graded Stakes winners
