May Day Rose smells success

Rockport Harbor filly wins Instant Racing Stakes

It was certainly her day April 15 as May Day Rose was victorious in the Instant Racing Stakes at Oaklawn Park. It was the third Stakes score for the three-year-old filly who won the G3 Santa Ysabel Stakes in January.

A daughter of Rockport Harbor, the talented May Day Rose set the pace for the one-mile race. Streets ahead of the competition, May Day Rose took the lead and never looked back.

May Day Rose was bred in Florida by Bridlewood Farm. Out of the Pine Bluff mare May Day Bluff, she is a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner May Day Vow. Her dam is a half-sister to Graded Stakes winner Roza Robata and Stakes winner Burger Day. She is owned by Kaleem Shah and trained by Bob Baffert.

Sophomore sire Rockport Harbor is off to a wonderful start, siring 31 winners to date. He is the sire of five Stakes horses, among them Woodbine Stakes winner Bear’s Future and G3-placed Minutesandtouches. Rockport Harbor stands at Darley for $12,500 Stands and Nurses.
