Long Hot Summer scorches rivals to take the Daisycutter Handicap

Daughter of Street Boss looks sharp in winning five-furlong turf dash

Long Hot Summer bulled her way through a narrow opening along the inside rail and charged to a one-length victory in the five-furlong Daisycutter Handicap at Del Mar.

Content to stalk the leaders from fourth through the early stages of the race, the daughter of Street Boss cut the corner into the stretch and zipped through along the rail on her way to a convincing victory.

Bred in California by Harris Farms and Donald Valpredo, Long Hot Summer is out of Hotlantic, a multiple Stakes-winning daughter of Stormy Atlantic. Long Hot Summer is a half-sister to Pacific Heat (by Unusual Heat), winner of the Golden State Juvenile Fillies Stakes, Evening Jewel Stakes, and Xpressbet California Cup Oaks.
