Live Lively wires G2 Davona Dale

Medaglia d'Oro filly dominates at Gulfstream

Three-year-old Medaglia d'Oro filly Live Lively starred in her Graded Stakes debut February 23 with a wire-to-wire victory in the G2 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream. The lightly raced filly sealed her third victory in a row - the most recent of which was a more than 11 length Allowance victory in January.

In the one and one-sixteenth mile Davona Dale, Live Lively dashed to the front out of the gate to set the pace. Traveling very well throughout under strong fractions, the filly lead every step of the way to roll to an easy victory in the stretch.

Bred by Edward A. Cox, Jr., Live Lively is out of Stakes winner Glacken's Gal, who is a half-sister to Stakes winner City Dweller and Stakes-placed Banker's Buy.

Live Lively is the 19th Graded Stakes winner for her sire Medaglia d'Oro, who has also sired the likes of Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra and G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty. Recently, three-year-old colt Violence became the sire's ninth G1 winner at the end of 2012 with a dominant victory in the G1 CashCall Futurity at Hollywood Park. Medaglia d'Oro stands for $100,000 stands and nurses at Darley USA.
