Lewis Bay goes gate-to-wire in G3 Turnback The Alarm Stakes

Daughter of Bernardini “in complete command” as she cruises to five-and-a-quarter-length win

Lewis Bay took the lead right out of the starting gate and never looked back as she cruised to an impressive five-and-a-quarter-length victory in the G3 Turnback The Alarm Stakes at Belmont Park.

Making her first start since August, the three-year-old daughter of Bernardini raced well within herself and was never threatened as she won while under a hand-ride. Lewis Bay adds the G3 Turnback The Alarm to her already impressive resume, which includes victories in the G2 Gazelle and G2 Demoiselle Stakes in addition to placing in the G1 Kentucky Oaks and G1 Mother Goose.

Racing as a homebred for Alpha Delta Stables, Lewis Bay is out of the Summer Squall mare Summer Raven, winner of the G3 Tempted Stakes. Lewis Bay is a half-sister to Winslow Homer, winner of the G3 Holy Bull Stakes, and Misconnect, winner of the G3 General George Stakes.

Bernardini is the sire of nine Graded Stakes winners in North America in 2016, including dual G1 winner Cavorting; Penwith, winner of the G2 Royal Delta Stakes; Le Bernardin, winner of the G2 Al Maktoum Challenge Round 1; Carrumba, winner of the G3 Top Flight Handicap; Innovative Idea, winner of the G3 Groupie Doll Stakes; Genre, winner of the G3 Molly Pitcher Stakes; and Shagaf, winner of the G3 Gotham Stakes.
