Lady Montdore wires the field to win G2 Glens Falls Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro earns her first Graded Stakes victory by three lengths

Lady Montdore took the lead right out of the starting gate and was never threatened as she rolled to a three-length victory in the G2 Glens Falls Stakes at Saratoga.

Now undefeated in two U.S. starts, the four-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro earned her first black-type victory for owner Godolphin Racing.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, Lady Montdore is out of the multiple Graded Stakes winner, Hystericalady (by Distorted Humor). During her stellar racing career, Hystericalady came home first in such races as the G1 Humana Distaff, G2 Delaware Handicap, G2 Fleur de Lis Handicap and the G2 Molly Pitcher Stakes (twice). Lady Montdore’s second dam is Sacramentada, Champion older mare in Chile and winner of the G1 Gran Premio Hipodromo Chile.

In addition to Lady Montdore, Medaglia d’Oro is also the sire of 2018 Stakes winners Gyllen (G2 Prix Eugene Adam), Elate (G2 Delaware Handicap), Bolt d’Oro (G2 San Felipe), Talismanic (G3 Prix Gontaut-Biron) and Enticed (G3 Gotham). Queen's Plate champion Wonder Gadot and Albany Stakes victor Sea Foam are also among Medaglia d'Oro's Stakes winners this season.

Medaglia d’Oro is also having a stellar year in the auction ring. He sired three of the top five yearlings at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga and has been represented by more million-dollar horses at that sale in the last decade than any other sire. He is also the sire of three of the six million dollar two-year-olds sold in 2018.
