Knightsbridge turns on the heat and cruises to victory in G3 Gulfstream Park Mile

Exciting son of Nyquist earns his third straight Graded Stakes win

Knightsbridge made it four straight wins – and three straight Graded Stakes wins – when he cruised to an eleven-and-one-quarter length victory in the G3 Gulfstream Park Mile on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The five-year-old son of Nyquist raced in second early, just off the pacesetting Mika, through the opening half-mile. Knightsbridge took over the lead with ease on the far turn and began to open up through the stretch, crossing the wire an easy winner while always under a hand-ride from jockey Junior Alvarado. Steal Sunshine was second, with Flying Liam third.

Knightsbridge was bred in Kentucky by Godolphin and is out of the unraced Bernardini mare, Tyburn Brook, making him a half brother to multiple Graded Stakes winner and current Darley stallion, Speaker’s Corner (Street Sense). Like his younger sibling, Speaker’s Corner also captured his first Graded Stakes wins at Gulfstream, winning both the G3 Fred W. Hooper Stakes and G2 Gulfstream Park Mile prior to his win in the G1 Carter Handicap at Aqueduct. Tyburn Brook is out of G1 winner Round Pond, making her a half sister to G1 winner and new Darley stallion, Highland Falls.

Knightsbridge is one of four Stakes winners of 2026 for his sire, Nyquist, who is also represented by David of Athens (G3 Jebel Ali Mile), Taj Mahal (Miracle Wood Stakes), and Coffee Connection (Borderplex Stakes). Not to be overlooked is the brilliant Nysos, recently a sharp second in the G1 Saudi Cup.

Nyquist is standing the 2026 season at Jonabell Farm for $175,000, stands and nurses.
