Kafwain sires his fifth Stakes winner

Rasierra wins the Panthers Stakes at Prairie Meadows

Kafwain sired a new Stakes winner on Saturday when Rasierra was a convincing victor of the Listed Panthers Stakes at Prairie Meadows.

Soon stalking the pace in the one-mile contest, she challenged three wide round the home bend and responded well in the stretch to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths with eight back to the third.

This victory doubled her win tally and took her prize-money total to over $100,000.

Bred by Mr & Mrs G David Shashura, she is the third foal, and third winner, out of Moscow Ballet mare, Sierras Kiara and can claim to have US horse of the year, Favorite Trick, as a close relative.

Kafwain, whose oldest crop are only three, has now sired five individual Stakes winners including Massive Drama, a G3-winning juvenile who was placed at the highest level.
