Holladay Road drives home in Crystal Water Stakes at Santa Anita

Son of Street Cry posts fastest of the meet going one and one-sixteenth miles in 1:41.25

Street Cry's six-year-old son Holladay Road made quite a statement at Santa Anita January 28 in the Crystal Water Stakes, posting the fastest performance of the meet going one and one-sixteenth miles in 1:41.25. It was the second in a row for Holladay Road, who was victorious in an Allowance race at Hollywood in early December.

Holladay Road positioned himself trailing the field to start the Stakes race. He started to come through along the rail to take on leaders and gamely took the lead with one-sixteenth to go under Rafael Bejarano to secure the strong victory.

Holladay Road is out of Blending Element, a G3 winner by Great Commotion. He is a half-brother to Graded Stakes-winner Tiz Elemental, Stakes winners Tiz A Blend and Excessive Blend, and Graded-placed War Element.

Street Cry has established himself as a potent source, renowned for imparting class and durability. His impressive list of G1 winners include G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, the legendary Horse of the Year Zenyatta, and G1 winner Street Boss, whose first runners hit the track in 2012.

Street Cry stands for $150,000 in 2012.
