Henny Hughes sires sixth winner

Henny’s Hurricane blows through the field at Saratoga

After stalking the leaders early, Henny’s Hurricane, by Henny Hughes, went four wide on the turn but was not worse for the wear as he pulled away to win by a widening two and one-half lengths over Saratoga’s main track.

Bred by Liberation Farm in Kentucky, Henny’s Hurricane is a half-sister to the Listed stakes-placed winner Coronation and is out of G3 Delaware Handicap winner Amarillo. She, in turn, is a half-sister to G3 winner Government Corner and G3-placed Maverick Miner. Amarillo has a Medaglia d'Oro colt on the ground in 2010.

Henny Hughes, the only three-year-old to win the G1 King’s Bishop and Vosbrugh, is the sire of five other winners from his first crop of two-year-olds.
