The Queen's Street Cry colt Carlton House jumps to Derby favouritism after G2 Dante Stakes win

Street Cry will have the favourite for this seasons Epsom Derby after his three-you-old son Carlton House impressively landed the G2 Dante Stakes on his seasonal debut at York on May 12. A twice-raced juvenile culminating in a nine-length Maiden triumph at Newbury, this was only his third ever start and he showed great speed and tenacity to quicken off a slow early pace to win by one-and-a-half lengths. Next stop is Epsom for which he is as low as 3/2 favourite.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, he is out of the Bustino mare Talented, winner of the G2 Sun Chariot Stakes, and from the family of Three Tails, Maysoon and Tamure, all of which hit the board in Epsom classics. Also related to Carlton House is Dubawi Gold (Dubawi), an excellent second in the 2,000 Guineas and now heading for the Irish equivalent.

Street Cry, who stands for $150,000 Stands and Nurses, has now sired 31 individual Group winners worldwide including 12 at the highest level. Already in 2011 he has sired Shocking and Whobegotyou in Australia, both last time out Group winners, the South African G3 winner Hollywoodboulevard and the Dubai classic winner Splash Point.
