A great act to follow

Quiet American’s American Act proves tough in the Harry Henson

As the field entered the turn in the Harry Henson Stakes on April 26, it appeared that American Act, by Quiet American, had the field of six measured as he started to make a strong move from the back of the pack. Well, he decided to go very, very wide on the turn spotting the field at least half a dozen lengths but was able to get up at the wire for a hard-fought victory.

Bred by Camelia Casby in Kentucky, this was the three-year-old colt’s first stakes win, but he was also second by a nose in the G2 San Vicente Stakes in February. American Act is out of the Stakes-winning Revolutionary Act, a half-sister to four Stakes horses and to the dam of Stakes winner Megalith.

American Act is by Quiet American, sire of 54 stakes winners, including, Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet, 2011 G1 winner Switch, as well as current-year standouts Star Guitar and Absinthe Minded. He is also the broodmare sire of Darley stallion Bernardini.

Quiet American stands for $15,000, live foal, stands and nurses.
