G1 double for Street Cry and Elusive Quality

Here Comes Ben and Quality Road sparkle at the Spa

Darley sires were responsible for the winners of consecutive G1 races at Saratoga when Here Comes Ben prevailed close home in the Forego Handicap and the superb Quality Road once again left his rivals toiling in his wake in the Woodward.

Here Comes Ben, winner of the Listed Kelly’s Landing Stakes in June, became the twelfth G1 winner for his sire Street Cry less than 24 hours after his paternal half-brother, the Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, had posted an impressive display in the G2 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington.

Bred by Marianne and Brandon Chase, Here Comes Ben is out of the Dayjur mare Chasetheragingwind.

Quality Road, a son of Elusive Quality and one of America’s superstars this season, recorded his fourth win at the highest level and his seventh Graded Stakes victory with a dominant display in the Woodward Handicap. The race was won last year by 2009 Eclipse Horse of the Year, Rachel Alexandra, by Medaglia d'Oro.

Rachel Alexandra's paternal half-sister C S Silk completed a Stakes treble on the Saratoga card when victorious in the Listed Addison Mallery Stakes. Winner of the G3 Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes in 2008, C S Silk is now four and was bred by Hemirage Farm LLC ffrom Remember The Day, by Settlement Day.
