Frosted Over gets it done at Woodbine!

Frosted Champion son draws away in the stretch in for an impressive second Graded win

Frosted Over, Canadian Sovereign Award Champion three-year-old colt of 2021, defeated an impressive field in the G3 Dominion Day Stakes to notch his second career Graded victory on July 1. He had previously won the G3 Ontario Derby in 2021 over the same one and one-eighth mile distance.

Frosted Over was quick out of the gate and sat just off of the pacesetter and then passed that one as the field entered the final turn. He exploded off the turn and never looked back, hitting the wire four and three-quarter lengths in front.

Frosted Over was bred in Kentucky by G. Watts Humphrey Jr. and is out of Candy Crush, a winning daughter of Candy Ride. Candy Crush is out of the multiple Stakes winning and G1-placed mare, Lady Melesi. In addition to Candy Crush, Lady Melesi has also produced Graded Stakes winner English Affair (G3 Cardinal Handicap), Stakes winners Roman Emperor and Seruni, and multiple Graded Stakes-placed Doc Cheney.

In addition to Frosted Over, Frosted is also the sire of G2 Fair Grounds Oaks winner Travel Column who just returned off of a 13-month layoff to win easily at Churchill Downs. His other 2022 runners include G3 winners Ingratiating and Cloudy (both in Australia).
