First American foal for Lonhro

Bay filly from Champion sire's first crop arrives in New York

The first American foal by Australian Champion and Champion sire, Lonhro, was born in New York on January 16th at Sequel Stallions. The bay filly is out of the Danehill Dancer mare Aquarius Star and is owned by JMJ Racing Stable.

Aquarius Star was one of 102 mares bred to Lonhro in 2012, an excellent book that included 65 Stakes horses or Stakes producers, 36 of those in Graded company.

Lonhro, Australian Champion as well as Champion sire in Australia, started 35 times, winning 26, including 11 G1 events. He is the sire of 36 Stakes winners, five at the highest level, and was Australian's Champion sire during the 2011-2012 season.

He will stand the 2013 season for $30,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
