Dickinson rallies strongly to win the G2 Hillsborough Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro earns her second consecutive Graded Stakes victory

Dickinson rallied strongly along the inside rail to win the G2 Hillsborough Stakes by a half-length at Tampa Bay Downs March 11.

It was the second consecutive Graded Stakes win for the daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, who now has won two of three starts this year. Dickinson captured the G3 Suwannee River Stakes in her previous start. The five-year-old mare has won four of five starts since being switched to the turf last September.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, Dickinson is out of the A.P. Indy mare, Little Belle, winner of the G1 Ashland Stakes and a runner-up in the G1 Kentucky Oaks and G1 Coaching Club American Oaks. Little Belle is a daughter of Champion Flagbird, winner of the G1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica.

Medaglia d’Oro sired four G1 winners in 2016, including Champion and multiple G1 winner Songbird and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner, New Money Honey.

Medaglia d’Oro is standing the 2017 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $150,000.
