Diadura overcomes a rough trip to take the Arlington-Washington Lassie

Two-year-old daughter of Hard Spun remains perfect in two starts

Diadura rallied from off the pace to win the Arlington-Washington Lassie by five-and-a-half-lengths at Arlington Park.

Settled toward the rear of the field through the early stages, the two-year-old daughter of Hard Spun began making up ground on the far turn, bulling her way between rivals to take the lead at the top of the stretch. Diadura then drew off through the final furlong for an easy victory.

Diadura was the first of two Stakes winners of the afternoon for Hard Spun. Less than thirty minutes later, his son Watchyourownbobber flew to an easy victory in the $400,000 More Than Ready Stakes at Kentucky Downs.

Bred in Florida by Inversiones FI, LLC, Diadura is out of the Stakes-winning mare, Daytime Promise (by Five Star Day), who is a half-sister to Canadian Champion Older Mare, Small Promises.

Hard Spun enjoyed a terrific year in 2015, siring G1 winners Hard Not To Like, Hard Aces, and Smooth Roller. Hard Spun has sired 10 Stakes winners so far this year, including the Graded winners Hard Aces, Big John B, Reload, Promising Run, and Khusoosy.
