Desert Party back in style

Listed success for Street Cry four-year-old

Street Cry’s Desert Party put interruptions from injury behind him on Saturday when returning to the track for the first time since March 23 to win the Listed Donald Levine Memorial Handicap at Philadelphia Park by three and a half lengths.

Now four, Desert Party won the G2 Sanford Stakes as a juvenile and followed up by landing the G3 UAE Guineas the following season. After chipping a fetlock in the Kentucky Derby, he bounced back from a ten-month spell to win back in Dubai, this time at Meydan in the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal.

Out of Sage Cat, by Tabasco Cat, Desert Party was bred in Kentucky by David Smith and Steven Sinatra and was sold for $2.1m at Fasig-Tipton’s two-year-olds in training sale.
