Deco Rocks rolls to victory as Rockport Harbor’s 15th winner

Filly scores with impressive performance in maiden special weight

In just her second start, Deco Rocks performed with confident professionalism to score her first victory in a five and a half furlong maiden special weight event at Penn National on Saturday. The bay filly relaxed early, and moved three wide with confidence on the turn to close with authority and pull ahead by two and one-quarter lengths under Luis Belmonte.

Bred by Dr. Stephen G Jackson, Debbie Jackson & Craig Bandoroff, Deco Rocks is owned by the Jacksons and trained by Flint Stites. She is out of Stakes-placed Decoratedwithonour, by the Conquistador Cielo stallion Matter Of Honor, and is a full sister to Stakes winner Matterofintegrity. Decoratedwithonour’s four previous foals of racing age, all winners, have been models of durability, averaging 28 starts apiece.

Among the 14 other winners that Rockport Harbor has sired in his first crop are Stakes winners Bear’s Future and May Day Rose, in addition to G3-placed Minutesandtouches. Deco Rocks added to Rockport Harbor’s winner tally, bringing him to 15 and a ranking of sixth by winners among first-year sires.
