Debut Stakes victory for Winter Book

Any Given Saturday filly wins Dale Wood Stakes by 7 1/2 lengths

Any Given Saturday filly Winter Book certainly dazzled on debut August 25 with a seven and one-half length victory in the Dale Wood Stakes. Winter Book broke well in he five and one-half furlong race and quickly settled in position to press the pace in second. In the stretch the filly kicked clear and was never challenged to take the victory by the wide margin at Ruidoso.

Out of the mare Shawgatny, Winter Book is a half-sister to Street Sense's Graded Stakes-winning son Motor City, as well as Stakes winner Satulagi. Shawgatny is a half-sister to W. D. Jacks and Star of Gdansk, both Graded Stakes winners. Winter Book was bred in Kentucky by Lantern Hill Farm LLC.

Any Given Saturday is the best horse by Champion sire Distorted Humor, and his victories include the G1 Haskell, G2 Dwyer, and G2 Brooklyn. With two crops to race thus far, his Stakes winners include the fantastic Princess Arabella, who was a strong winner of the Sunland Park Oaks.
