Darley America announces fees for new stallions Cody’s Wish and Proxy

Cody’s Wish will stand for $75k, with Proxy at $25k
Cody’s Wish winning his second G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile

Cody’s Wish, a five-time G1 winner and back-to-back victor in the 2022 and 2023 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, will begin his next career as a Darley stallion at Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, in the 2024 breeding season. He will be joined by Proxy, G1 winner of the Clark Stakes at Churchill Downs and a fast-closing third in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic. They will stand for fees of $75,000 and $25,000, respectively.

Darley Sales Manager Darren Fox said, “You couldn’t have written a better script on how Cody’s Wish would end his sensational career. He always, always, left all he had on the track. And with the addition of the ever-consistent, G1-winning Proxy to our roster, we once again have two more excellent home-breds joining us for the 2024 breeding season.”

A son of Curlin, Cody’s Wish was winner in 11 of 16 starts and was never off of the board. His three other G1 wins were in the Met Mile, Forego and Churchill Downs Stakes and he will retire with earnings of over $3.1 million. Cody’s Wish is out of G1 Gazelle Stakes winner Dance Card whose other high-level performances included a third in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.

Proxy, by Tapit

Proxy is the only G1-winning son of Tapit out of a multiple G1 winner. His dam, Panty Raid, won the G1 Spinster and G1 American Oaks. Proxy’s distinguished racing career reflected only two off-the-board finishes in 20 career starts. In addition to his win in the G1 Clark, he won or placed in a total of 10 other Graded events and was within a nose and a neck of winning two additional G1 races. He retires with earnings of over $2.75 million.
