A credit to his sire

E Dubai colt lands G2 Churchill Downs Stakes on Derby day

As the Derby result showed, the sloppy conditions at Churchill Downs on May 2 were not to suit all runners, however on the Derby undercard E Dubai's son Accredit made light work of the sticky track to win the seven-furlong G2 Churchill Downs Stakes and record his first Black type win in convincing style.

Moving straight to the front under Julien Leparoux, the four-year-old colt vied for the early lead and drew clear at the top of the stretch, running on well to win by a length-and-three-quarters. Bred by David Humphery, Accredit is out of the winning Montbrook mare Pocketbrook.

Also at Churchill Downs, Temple Street (Street Cry) flew home in the G1 Humana Distaff to finish second.

Further afield, E Dubai notched his second Stakes performer of the day when Dubit took second in the Tellike Stakes at Evangeline Downs.
