Cozy victory for Local in Honeymoon Stakes

Offlee Wild filly is newest Stakes winner for her sire

Local, a four-year-old filly by Offlee Wild, posted a sweet victory in the Honeymoon Stakes at Louisiana Downs June 4 becoming the newest Stakes winner for her sire who was the Leading Freshman Sire in 2009.

Patiently waiting in position, Local bided her time stalking the pace before sweeping past the field in the final furlong in the one mile Stakes race on the turf. It was the fourth career win for the filly.

Local was bred in Louisiana by owner Heiligbrodt Racing Stable, and is out of the Proper Reality mare Icy Reality. She is a half-sister to Stakes winners Bullet Breeze, War's Prospect, and Willist, as well as Graded-placed Bay Monster. Her second dam is the Stakes winning mare Icy Dial.

Offlee Wild is represented by Eclipse Champion and Breeders' Cup winner She Be Wild in his first crop. With five Stakes winners to his credit, he is also the sire of second crop Stakes winner Dreamsrunwild. Offlee Wild stands for $7,500 Stands and Nurses.
