Cherokee Run filly tops Washington sale

Full-sister to juvenile Stakes winner Cherokee Echo fetches $92,000

Just two days after her two-year-old sister Cherokee Echo landed the Listed Barbara Shinpoch Stakes at the local track, the yearling by Cherokee Run out of Eastern Echo (Silver Echo) kept the family in the news by making top price at the Washington Thoroughbred Breeders Association’s summer yearling sale at Emerald Downs on Tuesday.

The filly was bought by David and Jill Heerensperger for $92,000 from the Northwest Farms consignment. Both the sales-topper and Cherokee Echo, who fetched $42,000 at the same sale a year ago and has now won two from three starts, were bred by Northwest Farms in Kentucky.
