Cambier Parc wonderful in G3 Wonder Again Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro gets second career Graded win

“She has a bright future ahead of her,” is what trainer Chad Brown said after his three-year-old Medaglia d’Oro filly Cambier Parc won the G3 Herecomesthebride Stakes on March 2. It appears that was just a bit of an understatement after the sophomore blew by stablemate and 2018 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filly Turf winner Newspaperofrecord on June 6 to win the G3 Wonder Again Stakes at Belmont Park.

It would seem that most who watched the race thought the 1-9 favorite Newspaperofrecord was going to take the field wire-to-wire as she entered the turn for home seemingly in control. But it was not to be as Cambier Parc eventually caught and then confidently passed the front runner to win by a widening one and one-quarter lengths.

A $1.25 million Keeneland September yearling, Cambier Parc was bred in Kentucky by Bonne Chance Farm LLC and is out of Canadian Horse of the Year, Sealy Hill. Cambier Parc is a half-sister to Hillaby, Champion Female Sprinter in Canada; Belle Hill, winner of the G3 Autumn Miss Stakes; and Gale Force, winner of the G3 Mazarine Stakes.

Cambier Parc is one of 66 career Group or Graded winners for Medaglia d'Oro whose back catalog includes G1-winning sons and daughters like Rachel Alexandria, Songbird, Talismanic and other fellow Jonabell stallion Astern, to name a few.
