Cambier Parc explodes in the stretch to win the G1 Del Mar Oaks

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro proves much the best when earning her first G1 win

Cambier Parc came storming down the center of the course to win the G1 Del Mar Oaks by just over a length at Del Mar Aug. 17.

The three-year-old filly by Medaglia d’Oro added the Del Mar Oaks to an impressive resume that already includes victories in the G3 Wonder Again and G3 Herecomesthebride Stakes.

Cambier Parc raced in mid-pack, saving ground while hugging the inside rail. Swung out six-wide on the far turn by jockey John Velazquez, Cambier Parc exploded down the center of the course to post an impressive one-and-a-quarter-length victory.

A $1.25 million Keeneland September yearling, Cambier Parc was bred in Kentucky by Bonne Chance Farm LLC and is out of Canadian Horse of the Year, Sealy Hill. Cambier Parc is a half-sister to Hillaby, Champion Female Sprinter in Canada; Belle Hill, winner of the G3 Autumn Miss Stakes; and Gale Force, winner of the G3 Mazarine Stakes.

Medaglia d'Oro is the sire of 34 Stakes performers in 2019 - ten Group or Graded winners - including Elate, winner of the G2 Delaware Handicap and G2 Fleur de Lis; Majestic Eagle, winner of the G3 American Stakes; Golden Award, winner of the G3 Shuvee; Café Americano, winner of the G3 Pucker Up Stakes and G1 Rosehill Guineas winner, Crown Prosecutor.
