Bernardini's Hemsworth impresses in G2 Nashua

Represents Graded winner number 10 on the year for his sire

Third time was a charm for Bernardini's two-year-old son Hemsworth as his third trip to the post saw him break his maiden by eight lengths in the G2 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct on November 4th.

Hemsworth broke well to gain the lead shortly after the break as he settled into a nice rhythm during the race's early stages. With no others coming to him as the field rounded the final turn, the juvenile Godolphin-[owned colt simply pulled away with every stride for a runaway win in the G2 event.

Hemsworth, bred by Darley in Kentucky, is out of the Stakes-winning/G3-placed mare In Step, who is by Unbridled's Song. In Step is a half-sister to Champion and G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Vindication and six other siblings are either Stakes horses or the dams of Stakes horses.

Bernardini is having yet another stellar year in 2016 with Hemsworth representing his 10th Graded or Group winner on the year. Only Tapit has sired more in that category. In addition, he is the sire of seven TDN Rising Stars, tops among all stallions, with four of those being juveniles. And another impressive fact for Bernardini reveals that only Danzig sired more G1-winning juveniles from his first six crops than Bernardini.

His 2017 fee is $100,000, live foal, stands and nurses.
