Bernardini responsible for the highest-priced weanling at Keeneland on Wednesday

Mare in foal to Street Cry brings $2.3 million whilst Darley’s young stallions continue to fare well

Bernardini (pictured), the undoubted star of the 2009 yearling sales saw his successful spell continue into the breeding stock sales with the Eclipse and World Champion responsible for the highest-priced weanling during the second session at Keeneland November.

Hip 440, a bay filly from the Overbrook consignment, was knocked down to Hubert Guy for $440,000. She is out of the outstanding multiple G1 winner Flanders, who has already produced a G1 winner in Surfside.

The first foals by Hard Spun have continued to attract purchasers, averaging over $159,000 for 11 sold. His highest price of the session was $190,000 for a filly out of the Stakes-winning Mr Prospector mare Tenga – dam of G1 Secretariat Stakes winner Startac.

The first weanling by Any Given Saturday passed through the ring on Wednesday and sold for a very respectable $260,000. The bay colt, offered for sale by Indian Creek, is out of the G2 winner Sweet And Ready and is a half-brother to two Black type performers .

Also on Wednesday, Cotton Blossom, in foal to Street Cry, was bought by Brushwood Stable for $2.3 million.
