Beautiful Bernie baby boy born

Zenyatta’s first foal by Bernardini is a colt

It was just over a year ago when Jerome and Ann Moss, owners of Horse of the Year Zenyatta, chose Champion and Classic winner Bernardini as the first “suitor” for their fabulous race mare. Fast forward to around 10:00 p.m. last night and the end result is a 130-pound colt with a white star on his forehead and white on his feet.

A post on Zenyatta.com indicates that both both Zenyatta and her newborn came through the foaling in good order and are “getting acclimated to this new experience.”

Bernardini has had a tremendous start at stud with a dozen stakes winner thus far to his credit, including G1 winners To Honor and Serve, Stay Thirsty, A Z Warrior and Biondetti. His is standing for $150,000, live foal, stands and nurses.
