Banner Bill stays perfect in Colin Stakes

Undefeated Banner Bill, by Rockport Harbor, adds second Stakes win

Maintaining his still perfect record from three starts, two-year-old Rockport Harbor gelding Banner Bill impressed yet again in the Colin Stakes at Woodbine July 16. Sent off as the heavy favorite, Banner Bill was entering off a four and one-half length victory in the Victoria Stakes over the same track in June.

The son of Rockport Harbor certainly ran to the tote board. Throughout the six furlong race Banner Bill settled off the pace. In the final stretch, the gelding battled competitors with great strength and fought back in the final eighth of a mile for a rousing victory.

Bred by Ron Magers and Robert Marcocchio, Banner Bill is out of Temporada, by Summer Squall. He is a half-brother to Stakes winner and Graded-placed Third Chance and Stakes-placed Stormy Afternoon.

A son of Unbridled's Song, Rockport Harbor is the sire of six Stakes horses thus far. In addition to Banner Bill, he is the sire of multiple Graded Stakes winning three-year-old filly May Day Rose, and Stakes winner at Woodbine Bear's Future.
