Banner Bill makes headlines in Victoria Stakes

Son of Rockport Harbor keeps perfect record intact in Stakes win

Banner Bill, a two-year-old son of Rockport Harbor, kept his perfect record intact with a highly impressive win in the five-furlong Victoria Stakes at Woodbine June 18. Banner Bill is now the third Stakes winner for Rockport Harbor.

Banner Bill was coming off an impressive Maiden Special Weight win at Woodbine in May. Remaining off the pace, the gelding held position until making a move to swing wide and storm past competitors en route to a four and one-half length victory.

Bred by Ron Magers and Robert Marcocchio, Banner Bill is out of the Summer Squall mare Temporada. Already a Stakes producer, she is the dam of Stakes winner and G3-placed Third Chance as well as Stakes-placed Stormy Afternoon.

Sophomore sire Rockport Harbor has sired six Stakes horses to date. Among these runners is multiple Graded Stakes winner May Day Rose, who most recently took home the G3 Railbird May 21 at Hollywood Park. He is also the sire of Stakes winner Bear's Future. A son of Unbridled's Song, Rockport Harbor stands for $12,500 Stands and Nurses.
